Social Landscape of Didcot
Didcot First is very grateful, and would like to thanks Paul Bodsworth, for his permission in allowing us to use his photographs throughout our website.
The Social Landscape of Didcot (SLoD) is an ongoing photographic art project capturing the social and natural aspects of our urban town - Paul has been a Didcot citizen for 42 years.
He says, 'Some of the images cover subject matter that can be perceived to be ugly or depressing. This is the intention, as Didcot is no different to any other town.
SLoD is reaching it's first year, this means I'd been doing this for one year on the day the Power Station stops creating its plumes of steam and falls quiet... SLoD continues to romanicise the plain, the ugly and unattractive in a quirky and humorous way. The photography and page has become a daily part of its followers routine and has celebrated by local media.'
At the end of May (1 year on) Paul's images will be included in an exhibition at the Cornerstone Arts Centre celebrating the end of the Power Station era
