Didcot First and sponsors are delighted to announce this year’s winners of the 8th annual Business & Community Awards (BACAs).
The exciting award ceremony, held on 18th November, was attended by 200 people at Cornerstone in Didcot town centre with all 36 shortlisted nominee organisations, local dignitaries and business leaders filling the main auditorium.
In an ‘Oscar’ style ceremony, winners of the 12 prestigious awards were presented by their category judges and individual award sponsors. All the winners received a certificate and £100 prize money. During the event, the audience and special guests were entertained by fantastic and talented local acts including singer songwriter Okami, Blewbury Brass Band and Didcot Sixth Form dance group.
Neal Veglio, who grew up in Didcot and attended St Birinus School before going into radio presenting, co-hosted the awards with Emma East and David Bates from Didcot First.
Emma East from Didcot First said: “On behalf of Didcot First we’d like to offer our congratulations to all the 12 winners of this year’s Business & Community Awards. The whole event is a chance for Didcot and surrounding areas to celebrate excellence and talent from around the local community. Neal Veglio, our sponsors, the 17 independent judges and the team at Cornerstone made it a fabulous event and the audience really enjoyed it.”
